Ao Pangka Yai is the principal beach on Koh Bulon Le, a small island between Pak Bara and Koh Lipe. It is a long stretch of fine white sand on the eastern shore with clear shallow water and a reef offshore.
Koh Bulon has no roads and no cars, a single small village of Urak Lawoi sea gypsies and Thai families, and a handful of low-key places to stay. There is no bank and no ATM.
Boats come from Pak Bara and, in season, from Koh Lipe. Like Lipe, the island is seasonal: most places close and services stop during the south-west monsoon.
