Surat Thani train station is a great hub for railway transportation as it is the only train station in Surat Thani. There are various ways of getting to the station. The first way is by bus. Surat Thani has 3 bus stations that provide multiple bus or minivan rides a day to the railway station among other places. Another means of transport is through boat and bus combination, this way is used when you are in any of the surrounding islands like Koh Tao, Koh Phangan or Koh Samui as you will have to take a boat ride followed by a bus ride to the station. Also, if you happen to be at Surat Thani Airport you can get a bus transportation to the train station. Surat Thani Railway Station is the principal rail center for the Thai Southern line. It is located in Thakham City at Phun Phin district on the Eastern Bank of Tapi River. The station was originally named back in 1915 Phun Phin Station and was changed later on, Surat Thani train station offers services like an advance booking office and a left luggage room, it also contains a lot of travel agencies. Every 20 minutes a train passes, giving you many schedules.
Koh Phangan

Oyster Farms
One of Surat Thani's points of pride is that it produces some of the largest oysters in the world. Here at the oyster farm, you will get to witness first hand how the oysters are harvested, grown and processed right till the end. At some farms you will get the chance to taste the oysters yourself, however, eating oysters does require a strong stomach. Hiring a boat to the farm is essential.
