Muak Lek Waterfall, Saraburi
Muak Lek falls in a wide, low curtain across the river of the same name, in an arboretum in eastern Saraburi province. It is not a tall waterfall - the drop is only a few metres - but it is broad, and the water spreads across a shelf of rock into a large pool below.
The surrounding grounds are mature planted forest with a suspension footbridge over the river, walking paths under big trees and a resident population of squirrels and birds. It is a shaded, easy place to spend an hour rather than a hike.
Muak Lek district is on the main road towards Khao Yai and is known for its dairy farms; the falls are usually a stop on the way rather than a destination in themselves.
