Pasai Beach, Koh Yao Noi
Pasai is the principal beach on Koh Yao Noi's south-east coast, a long shallow bay backed by casuarinas with most of the island's small resorts nearby.
Like the rest of this coast it looks out at Phang Nga Bay and drains far out at low tide. Longtails are drawn up on the sand and go out to the surrounding islands.
The island is small enough to circle by motorbike in a couple of hours, past rubber plantations, rice fields and buffalo. That, rather than the swimming, is what people come for.
