The most direct way to reach Sunrise Beach is the Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe ferry. The boat departs from Koh Lanta and arrives at Koh Lipe's pier, from which Sunrise Beach and its beachfront bungalows are a short walk or a quick motorbike-taxi ride. Traveling via Hat Yai
If you are coming from the mainland, Hat Yai is the usual gateway. There is no direct ferry from Hat Yai itself: travelers first take a road transfer from Hat Yai to a mainland pier, then board a separate ferry to Koh Lipe. Build in extra time between the two legs, especially if you are connecting from a flight or overnight bus, since the road transfer and ferry departure are run independently and delays on one can affect the other.
