Klong Dao Beach, Koh Lanta
Klong Dao is the northernmost of Koh Lanta Yai's west-coast beaches, a two-kilometre curve beginning just south of Saladan where the ferries dock. It is the closest beach to the pier and the easiest to reach on arrival.
The bay is wide, flat and very shallow a long way out, with almost no drop-off, which makes it the beach most families choose. Sunsets face straight down the length of it.
Saladan's restaurants, dive shops and ATMs are a short walk or ride north. The beach shelves so gently that low tide leaves a long walk to the water.

Attraction Points
- Khao Mai Kaew Cave, Koh Lanta — A large cave system in the island's forested interior, visited on a guided scramble by torchlight.
- Khlong Chak Waterfall, Koh Lanta — A jungle waterfall in the island's south-east, reached by a walk upstream - and dry outside the wet season.
- Mu Ko Lanta National Park, Laem Tanod — The lighthouse headland at the southern tip of Koh Lanta, with a nature trail and resident macaques.
- Bakantiang Beach (Ba Kan Tiang), Koh Lanta — A sheltered horseshoe bay near the island's southern end, and one of Lanta's best for swimming.
