Freedom Beach, Koh Tao
Freedom Beach sits at the southern end of Koh Tao, a short walk east around the headland from Chalok Baan Kao. It is small, sheltered and shallow, with coral not far out and a rock at one end that people swim to.
The path up to the John-Suwan viewpoint leaves from behind the beach, which is why the two are almost always visited together - a steep fifteen minutes up to the twin-bay view, then back down for a swim.
A small access fee is generally collected at the entrance.
