Railay West Beach, Krabi is the beach that puts Railay on postcards: a broad stretch of white sand facing open water, with sheer limestone rising at either end and no road anywhere on the peninsula.

Railay West is the beach that puts Railay on postcards: a broad stretch of white sand facing open water, with sheer limestone rising at either end and no road anywhere on the peninsula. Railay is attached to the mainland but cut off from it by cliffs, so everyone arrives by longtail.
Boats from Ao Nang land directly on this beach - there is no pier, so you wade the last few metres. The swimming is good and the sunsets are the best on the peninsula, which is when the beach fills up.
A flat path crosses the peninsula to Railay East in about five minutes. The resorts here are the most expensive on Railay; the cheaper places are on the east side.
