Klong Nin lies well down Koh Lanta's west coast, past the mid-island rock, and is where the sand becomes good again: a long, clean beach with clear water and a proper swimming depth.
A small village sits behind it with restaurants, a few shops and a good spread of places to stay, but far less development than the north of the island. It is a common choice for people who want a beach day rather than a beach scene.
It is around forty minutes from Saladan, which is itself the point - the southern half of Lanta is noticeably quieter, and gets quieter still beyond here.

- Khao Mai Kaew Cave, Koh Lanta — A large cave system in the island's forested interior, visited on a guided scramble by torchlight.
- Khlong Chak Waterfall, Koh Lanta — A jungle waterfall in the island's south-east, reached by a walk upstream - and dry outside the wet season.
- Mu Ko Lanta National Park, Laem Tanod — The lighthouse headland at the southern tip of Koh Lanta, with a nature trail and resident macaques.
- Bakantiang Beach (Ba Kan Tiang), Koh Lanta — A sheltered horseshoe bay near the island's southern end, and one of Lanta's best for swimming.
- Kaw Kwang Beach, Koh Lanta — The beach on the headland north of Saladan, looking across the channel to Koh Lanta Noi.
- Klong Dao Beach, Koh Lanta — The first beach south of the pier, wide and shallow, and the island's most family-friendly.
