Khao Khanap Nam is the pair of limestone karsts that rise straight out of the water where the Krabi River meets the sea, one on each bank. They are the emblem of Krabi Town — the shape that appears on the province's signage — and the short boat ride out to them is one of the standard half-day trips from the waterfront.
Longtail boats leave from the town pier and take a few minutes to reach the base of the cliffs. Walkways and steps lead into caves in the rock, where stalactites and stalagmites are lit for visitors; human remains found in the caves are part of the site's history and are explained on the way in.
Mangrove channels run behind the karsts, and most boatmen will extend the trip through them on request.
