Tonsai Bay, Koh Phi Phi Don
Tonsai Bay on the southern side of the isthmus is where every ferry arrives and where the whole of Phi Phi Don's village sits. If you're arriving by sea, Tonsai Bay is almost certainly your first sight of Koh Phi Phi Don, and it remains the busiest, most central part of the island throughout your stay.
Tonsai Bay, Koh Phi Phi Don
Tonsai Bay on the southern side of the isthmus is where every ferry arrives and where the whole of Phi Phi Don's village sits. There are no roads and no cars anywhere on the island; goods move by handcart and longtail.
The lanes behind the pier hold the restaurants, dive shops, bakeries, travel agents and most of the accommodation, packed into a few hundred metres. Everything on the island is reached from here on foot or by boat.
A pier fee is collected on arrival. The bay itself is a working harbour rather than a swimming beach - for that, cross to Loh Dalum or walk to Long Beach.
